DR series: Adding cameras over a public WAN

Resolution:

1. At the remote site:
   • From each camera webpage, go to Network > Port/QOS and change the remote port to unique numbers. The default port is 8016. In the above diagram, the ports used are 8011, 8012, and 8013.
     
     
      
   • Enable port forwarding in the modem, then use https://portchecker.co/ to confirm the ports are open. Contact your network IT for assistance. IDIS support will not configure this for you.
2. At the NVR:
   • Plug the VIN port into the modem.
   • Click Setup > Network > VIN.
   • Set the type to "DHCP Client".
   • Enable "Use NAT(ROUTER/VPN/ETC).
   • Click Apply, then OK.
     
     
3. Currently, cameras over a WAN connection cannot be registered from the local NVR. You must access the NVR through Remote Setup in IDIS Center.
   • Download IDIS Center from here: https://www.idisglobal.com/index/product_view/2556
   • Add the NVR then right-click it and select "Remote Setup".
   • Click Camera > Registration > Scan.
   • Change the protocol to "DirectIP". Change the mode to "IP Address". Enter the public IP address of the modem at the remote site and the port used for the first camera. Click Scan. Once the camera is found place a checkmark next to it, then click "Add Camera" and enter the camera credentials.
