This article provides a basic process and settings to configure your recorder for full-time motion recording.
- Plug your cameras into the recorder's PoE ports, or a switch connected to the unit's Video In-EXT port.
- Log in to the recorder.
- In the Live View, right-click an empty box in the camera grid and select Camera Registration.
- After you register cameras, press Menu on the front of the recorder and selection option 12, as shown below, to enter recorder setup.

Select option 1, as shown below, for System Setup.
- Set the recorder's date and time.

Check the recorder's schedule:
- Click Schedule
- Set the recording schedule and select Schedule On.
- Click + to add subsequent recording schedule windows.
- Click OK.

Return to the Setup Menu and select Record.
- Select General and set Limit Time Lapse Recording to 14 days.
- Select General and set Limit Time Lapse Recording to 14 days.

Click on Schedule on the left. In column 1, set:
- Day: All
- Range: 00:00-24:00
- Mode: Time and Event
- Channels: Select only channels representing cameras that are attached to the recorder. Deselect any channels that don't have cameras attached.

Under Schedule Settings, set:
- Time: Profile 2
- Event: Profile 1

Return to the Setup menu, and select Event.
- Click Video Analytics.
- Check Motion and select all cameras. This sets the recorder to record on motion events for all cameras.

Return to the Setup menu and select Camera Setup.
- Select Stream 1.
- Configure the camera as shown below. Make sure the highest possible resolution for each camera is selected. When done configuring the first camera click the drop down at the top and select the second camera. Do this until all cameras have been configured.
- Go to Registration, and enter a name for each camera in the Title field.
- Select Stream 1.
