Issue:
Have the recorder and on the network and want to get push notification sent to a phone when an event occurs.
Pre-Requisite
- The recorder network setup and communicating remotely.
- Port Forwarding is done in the router for the recorder if accessing offsite
- Connected to a DNS server
- Recorder registered to the Starnet phone application
Solution:
- To set up the push notification you will need to make sure the recorder is on the network and communicating.
- In the recorder, you will need to choose the events that you would like to be notified when they occur.
- Open the Starnet application and turn on Push.
For this example, we are going to turn on push for Boot up.
- In front of the recorder navigate to Setup>Event. Chose any event and then select Action.
- Click on the box to the right of Notify.
- Click on the box to the left of Push Notification and click OK.
- This Icon will be in the box to the right of Notify. Click OK and then OK and then Save.
After this is setup you will need to set up the Starnet Application on your phone to receive push notifications from the recorder.
- Open the Starnet application on the phone and tap on the recorder.
- Tap on Edit.
- Tap on the box to the left of Push.
- Wait for the register to finish.
- Click the back button on the phone.
Push is now set up. The recorder should have a Push On message under the IP address/FEN Name.
