Issue:
On a 20 series XDi unit, you need to access the web-based menu of an ONVIF camera that is connected and working on the NVR. NAT does NOT work on Direct Net cameras as their menus can be accessed through the NVR settings.
Once NAT is set up it allows you to access the ONVIF camera's setup web-based menus. You either have to have a browser in the same network location as the recorder or if someone at the site can access the recorder through StarNet, their computer browser can be used to access those ONVIF menus.
Solution:
Gain access to the 20 series NVR XDi menu. Navigate to the Network icon and click it. Then click on NAT at the bottom of the selections. You will be presented with this screen below. Click the Use NAT checkbox.
Once that is selected now click the Star icon bottom right of the list.
Once you click the Star you will see the camera list of attached cams pop up. It makes sense to just check them all in a row but you must keep up with the number of the cams as you do this. The unit will assign a port number to each camera so it can be accessed using NAT, that is why the importance of keeping up with the cam numbers. See the list that picking the cams creates below.
Notice the port numbers are different for each particular camera below.
Once you have the cams filled out on the list as needed go to the WAN network screen to see what the NVR's IP address is. In the below example you would type into the browser URL field the IP address of the recorder followed by a colon then the port number of the camera you want to access,
If I wanted to access camera #3's menu I would type into the browser; 192.168.0.19:16003. You must have the username and password for the cameras you wish to access.
