Issue:
You have just added a TVI camera to an ET series recorder and you need to get the Remote Focus working.
Solution:
Get into the Setup Menu and go to the Camera menu.
You will see the below screen upon entering the camera menu.
If the camera is a TVI camera we want the Type selection to be Auto(HD-TVI). If it is different please check the BNC at the camera and make sure it is on the HD BNC.
Now click on the PTZ tab at the top of the screen.
Go to Mode and select UTC (Up the Coax).
Select a Product. Select C-protocol (H) if you are using a CDT2S12xxx camera. This protocol is widely used but if the camera does not respond to this protocol you can try C-protocol (Pelco) or try UTC OSD.
Once the protocol is selected you can now Save the settings and see if the camera will remote focus. Back at the live view of the cameras, to enter the PTZ mode for a camera, on the grid where the camera is located there should be a Pink colored "P" at the top left. Make the grid go full screen. Right-click on the image and select PTZ and this makes the "P" start flashing.
Move the mouse to the bottom center of the screen to have the PTZ controls pop up. For remote Focus cameras, all you can use is the zoom (big man, little man) and focus controls, the selection right under the big man, little man.
NOTE:
The recorder can control a PTZ via RS232 or RS485 as well with control wires. The recorder can use Analog cameras and Analog PTZ's. To gain control of the Analog PTZ go back into the camera menu and select the PTZ Tab. First, go to Port bottom right of the page and select RS485 or RS232. Do the Setup as needed for that camera. Once that is selected and Setup is complete the Mode will show the RS232or RS485 lit up. Select that for the Mode.
By default, the Product will show None. Now that RS485 or RS232 is selected you have more choices for Product, see below.
Scroll through the list to pick the Protocol you need for that particular camera. Once selected hit Save at the bottom to save your settings. Get back to the live camera view screen. Follow the Right-click at the grid where the camera is located, best to make it full screen, then click PTZ to make the Pink "P" start flashing. Move your mouse to the bottom center for the PTZ box to pop up.
