Note:
If you are using a 25 Series XDI, you will not have to go through these steps. Just make sure the VMD4 is turned on in the camera and the CRxx25XDI is at the latest version of the firmware.
Issue:
Motion event recording needs to be set up on the XDI.
Prerequisites:
- The XDI camera network must be set to Manual with the IP address written down.
- The Axis camera must be firmware version 9.40.1.
- The initial setup of the Axis camera must be done.
- Laptop with a web browser.
Resolution:
- Click the Setting box at the bottom right corner.
- Select the Apps tab.
- Select the AXIS Video Motion Detection 4.4-0.
- Click Start. Wait for the status to display "Running".
- Click System then Event.
- Select Recipient and click the “+”.
- Enter the following:
- Name- XDI Motion
- Type- TCP
- Host- Enter the Camera Side Network of the XDI IP address. By default, it is 10.10.254.254.
- Port- 8201.
- Click Test. If it passes, a flag will appear on the top left.
- Click Save.
- Click Rules then click the “+” to create a new rule.
- Check "Use this rule" and enter the following:
- Name- AXIS_MOTIONON
- Condition- VMD 4: Profile 1
- Action- Send notification through TCP
- Message- AXIS_MOTIONON
- Click Save.
- Click the “+” to create a new rule.
- Check "Use this rule" and enter the following:
- Name-AXIS_MOTIONOFF
- Condition- VMD 4: Profile 1
- Invert this condition- Put a check-mark in the box box
- Action- Send notification through TCP
- Message: AXIS_MOTIONOFF
- Click Save.
NOTE: When adding this camera to the XDI series recorder, please use the Axis protocol and do an IP Address search. If you do Auto Scan LAN it will find the camera by its Zero Config IP address(169.254.x.x) and motion will not work.
