Question
Are the exposure settings for my SurroundVideo AV12186DN and AV12386DN 12MP panoramic cameras different from other AV Panoramic cameras?
Answer
The individual WDR camera sensors in SurroundVideo AV1218DN and AV12386 models automatically determine the optimal sensor mode (WDR or LDR – Low Dynamic Range) depending on the light levels in the scene for each sensor. This is different from the default setting in our other panoramic cameras where the brightness level for the whole image is automatically balanced across all four sensors.
You can change the exposure settings of Arecont Vision® 12MP cameras to produce a panoramic image with an equalized, uniform brightness level like our non-WDR panoramic cameras. However, choosing this option may reduce the optimal image for one or more sensors since the brightness for all sensors will be controlled by a single reference sensor. We recommend leaving the exposure at the default.
If you want to enable your camera's reference channel:
- Go to the camera's webpage.
- Click Settings.
- Under Misc, change the Exposure Reference Channel.
