Issue:
AV NVR needs to be setup.
Provided Accessories:
- USB Mouse
- Power cord
- (2) SATA cables
- (1) Power cable
Resolution:
- Install your HDD.
- Remove the two screws on the back of the unit holding the top cover in place.
- Remove the top cover.
- Install a hard drive near the front left (by the fan) of the unit using the provided screws.
- Connect the power from the HDD to the motherboard.
- Connect the SATA cable from the HDD to the motherboard SATA0.
- Replace the top cover and the two screws holding it in place.
- Connect a VGA or HDMI monitor and USB mouse to the NVR.
- Connect a power cord to the NVR.
- Connect a network cable to the NVR.
- Turn the unit on using the toggle switch on the back.
- The power LED will turn solid blue. The unit will beep once and the Status LED will be solid blue within a minute.
- You will see a similar screen as below.
- The units were not reset to factory default during production. Click Settings (Gear Icon on the upper left) > Maintenance > Reset to Default > OK. The unit will reboot.
- Using the onscreen keyboard, log in with "admin/admin".
- Click Settings > Storage > Select the HDD > Format > Yes.
- Click Back > Maintenance > Restart.
- Click Settings >Time & Date > Specify your information > Apply > Yes > OK. The unit will reboot.
- Click Settings > Network > Select one of the below options.
- Auto-Configure as DHCP Server (used for isolated networks)
- Auto-Configure using DHCP Server from External Server (used when the customer already has a DHCP server in place).
- Manual Configure (used in static networks).
- In this example, we are using DHCP from the customer router.
- If you are using the PoE ports on the back click the NVR, put an "X" next to PoE Switch Configuration > Click Apply > Click OK.
- The unit will reboot.
- The cameras should be set to DHCP by default. Plug them into the PoE ports on the back.
- Click Settings > Channel > Auto Search.
- Cameras will appear as shown below.
- Double click on a camera > Click Detect. When the image populates click Apply > Apply > OK.
- Click Settings > Recording.
- For Continuous recording place a checkbox next to Full for CH1 in the Continuous column. Uncheck the box under Schedule. Click Apply > Click OK.
- For Event recording only (motion must be configured in the camera first), ensure the box in Continuous and Schedule are unchecked. Click Apply > Click OK.
- Click Settings > Scheduling > Select CH1 and ensure it's on Event Record.
- Click Apply > Click OK.
- Click Apply > Click OK.
