Problem
There was a known issue with v1.9 where we could not reset the password using AV IP Utility with nonce files.
Solution
- Uninstall all versions of AV IP Utility from the customer's PC (this was not required when I tested).
- Install AV IP Utility 2.2.3B on the customer's PC.
- Obtain the MAC address of the computer the customer is using.
- Launch the AvKeyGenerator.exe.
- Enter the customer's PC MAC address then click Generate a Key.
- Look at the folder directory where you ran AvKeyGenerator.exe from. It will have a new file called AvIpUtility Key.dat
- Copy AvIpUtility Key.dat to this directory on the customer's PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Arecont Vision\AvIpUtility.
- Launch AV IP Utility 2.2.3B.
- Checkmark the camera then click Tools > Password Reset > Point to the file AvIpUtility Key.dat when prompted.
- The camera will show as accessible now.
- Inform the customer to update incrementally to 2.4 > 2.10 > then set the admin password.
