Issue:
A customer wants to set up NAT and DDNS for their camera.
Prerequisites:
- AV02CMB-100 v35110
- Username
- Password
- IP address
- Router
- Admin credentials
- DDNS account (i.e. no-ip.com)
Resolution
- In this example, the camera has a local IP address of 192.168.1.116.
- Local IT will need to setup NAT on the router. Contact your router manufacturer or see https://portforward.com/ for your model. Below is an example from an Arris BGW210-700 using port 8080.
- Verify NAT has been set up correctly. Identify the public IP assigned to your router or go to https://www.whatismyip.com/ and make note of the IP address displayed.
- From an external network, launch a web browser and type in the public IP address appending the port 8080 to the end of it.
Example: http://78.79.80.81:8080/
- Log in with the camera credentials. You should see live video.
- If people want to use dynamic DNS (DDNS), they will need to subscribe to a DDNS service such as no-ip.com.
- Log in to no-ip.com and click Create Hostname.
- Provide a unique name and select a domain name from the dropdown list then click Create Hostname.
- From an external network, launch a web browser and type in the DDNS URL appending the port 8080 to the end of it.
Example: http://av02cmb-100.ddns.net:8080/ - Log in with the camera credentials. You should see live video.
