Open Eye will not do any password reset (Windows or Contera Software) anymore for legal reasons. If the user forgot, they must reimage the NVR or uninstall/reinstall Contera Software using the same serial number.

Issue:
- The administrator onsite has forgotten the local admin password to sign into the Contera Server.
Resolution:
Note: Per OE this does not work from a webpage to the NVR. Note: These steps do not apply to the "Windows login"

Copy and paste and email customer information or provide it over the phone.
Please type the following information on the login screen at the front panel console.
- Username: resetpasswd
- Password: reset
- Write down the "Challenge/Reset Code" display on the screen and email the following information to support@arecontvision.com

- Obtain the "Challenge/Reset code" displayed.
- Send the challenge code to nseaton@openeye.net specifically (you can cc support@openeye.net also) and request the code be valid for 24 hours. By default, it is only valid for 8 hours.

Please provide a 24-hour challenge code. - OpenEye will provide an "Unlock Response Code". (provide to the customer)

Copy and paste to Customer:
- Your Unlock code:
- You were provided an UNLOCK CODE which will need to be entered into the UNLOCK CODE field.
- Press the RESET button. This will reset the Admin account password and immediately take you back to the login screen.
- Log in to the Contera Server Recorder using the default credentials:
Username: admin
Password: 1234
